Ring-a-ding-ding

Post-Op Update

Greetings!

I don't wish to rehash the same stuff I already wrote about on my main blog, so if you want to read the nitty-gritty of the surgery, that's where to do it.

Suffice it to say, the lump was about the size of a softball (10 cm x 10 cm x who knows how deep). The surgery was delayed by over an hour, leaving me time to get nervous. It took just under an hour from the point that I walked into the operating room and it took them some 2 hours to discharge me after waking up in recovery.

The next day, I felt good enough to do three loads of laundry, clean out the laundry room and start plans to build a shelving unit for that room. The next day, Alex and I started building it and on Saturday, the framework got painted and the shelves (oak ply) were stained. Tomorrow, we cut the notches to fit the shelves onto the framework, sand and put the second coat of stain on the oak and if it dries in time, assemble it. However, with the forecast calling for rain or showers, it's not likely to dry tomorrow. So, I'll put it together on Tuesday.

I'm really surprised by how LITTLE pain I've been experiencing. The surgeon told me it was going to hurt a lot and while I do have discomfort and the occasional stabbing pain, it's not as bad as having the lump.

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank all my lovely friends who offered help to me. I am so grateful to each and every one of you! Fortunately, I have been able to pretty much resume my normal activities (aside from taking it easy the day of the surgery) and am feeling pretty good. I hope that when you are in need, I will be able to extend my help to you. You're all awesome!
